The analysis of indicators of the standard of living is an important component of determining the social situation and economic development in the country or in a separate region. The average wage is a significant indicator of the quality of life of the population. The information provided by state statistics authorities does not always reveal the true state of affairs and does not give a complete picture of individual aspects of human life. Such problems exist in many countries of the world, and France is no exception. The purpose of the study is to determine and further analyze the average monthly wage in the regions of France, taking into account the unemployment factor, based on a specially developed method. The objectives of the study are to analyze statistical data on the average hourly wage by regions of France for 2012-2020, calculate the average monthly wage by region, taking into account the unemployment factor, and determine other factors affecting the wage level. In the course of the study, a tabular method, an analysis method, a grouping method, a comparison method were used to study the indicators of citizens' wages. The study showed slight fluctuations in the level of average hourly wages across the regions of France. When calculating the average monthly salary, taking into account the unemployment factor, the gap in this indicator between the regions of the country has increased significantly. The lowest values were found in the overseas territories of the country and in the less industrialized areas of metropolitan France. The highest indicators of the level of wages are determined in the capital of the country and in other urbanized and industrialized areas.
