Calculating hollow-core modes in photonic crystal filber using finite difference method

Based on finite-difference solution of full-vectorial wave equation for monochromatic electromagnetic radiation, which was reduced to a liner eigenvalue problem, transverse electric components distributions of fundamental hollow-core mode were found. Near linear dependence of the fundamental hollow-core mode effective index on wavelength was obtained numerically. It is also shown that absolute value of the fundamental mode dispersion parameter is two times smaller for photonic crystal fiber with the hallow core than for the solid core fiber.
