Calculation of temperature in a cylindrical biogas reactor

The results of theoretical studies on the influence of the power value of additional heat sources for heating raw materials on the temperature distribution in the biogas reactor are presented in the article. The calculated dependences were obtained by solving the Fourier heat conduction equation in layered media. A one-dimensional problem was considered. Boundary conditions of the third kind were taken on the outer surface of the wall. The conditions for conjugation of temperature fields and heat fluxes of the fourth kind were provided between the inner wall surface and the inner volume of biomass inside the reactor. Analytical relationships were obtained for calculating temperature fields inside a cylindrical bioreactor, as well as calculation formulas for assessing the power of additional (external) heat sources evenly distributed inside the working volume for heating the mass in the bioreactor. It was found that the power of additional (third-party) heat sources required to ensure the temperature difference does not depend on the radius of the working volume of the bioreactor and is determined by such parameters as the thermal conductivity of the biomass and the height of the bioreactor, and also practically does not depend on the thickness of the reactor wall, but significantly depends on the outside temperature. environment outside the reactor.
