A two dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model for gas flow through a poppet valve was presented. The flow fields, as well as the static pressure and Mach number under the conditions of differences valve lifts were simulated based on proposed model by using ANSYS CFX software. The investigation comprises aerodynamic force of a gas followed through the port/valve annulus calculating at a fixed valve lifts under steady flow conditions.
