The author examines issues related to the transformation of the gender-based order in the Tuvan family on the basis of a sociological study of the modern Tuvan family conducted by the author in 2020-2021. To determine the specifics of the modern gender-based order, the issues of family primacy are studied from the point of view of the normative, value perception of who should be the head of the family, and the actual correlation of the status and role positions of men and women in the family. Based on the analysis of the features of financial decision-making, family budget management, gender-based authority in the family is investigated. A comparative analysis of the distribution of responses of men and women regarding gender stereotypes was carried out. It is concluded that from the point of view of normative, value perception, both men and women declare the primacy of men in the family, at the same time, the socially approved primacy of men does not coincide with the actual distribution of authority in families and the role of men in decision-making. Women are more inclined to egalitarianism, independence in decision-making.
