The distributiuon of gastrointestinal diseases of newborn calves in the Middle Volga region

Epizootological monitoring of gastrointestinal diseases in 35 farms of the Middle Volga region in 2018-2019 is conducted. The violation of proper conditions of keeping and feeding newborn calves and cows, low the natural level of specific protection of calves from exposure to pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microflora leads to the high morbidity of newborn calves in the surveyed farms is established. More than 460 clinical samples and pathological material obtained from dead and sick animals is studied. In all investigated farms was observed a combined infection which caused in some cases by several species оf bacteria, in other cases by viruses and bacteria simultaneous. It is established, the most frequent activators of an infectious diarrhea of calves are E.coli, Clоstridium perfringens, streptococcus, S. enteridis and S. dublin, Proteus vulgaris, and also rota-, coronavirusis. In the clinical observation they decreased appetite, depression and liquid feces was yellowish grey in color, and contained mucus.
