Sound propagation in gas discharge plasma of gases with nitrogen impurity

The paper deals with theoretical research of propagation of acoustic waves in gas discharge plasma. Special attention is given to plasma of gases with nitrogen impurity and, in particular, air. The equation of sound propagation in such environment is obtained and solved. It is found that dependence of amplification of sound factor from sound frequency and dimensionless parameter of power input at propagation of wave along electric field vector in plasma has nonmonotonic character. Results of calculations are in good agreement with known experimental data of other authors.
