Expansion of the oil flax cultivation area in the Ural federal region

The results of the study of seven types of oil flax on the grey forest soil are shown. The possibility of the successful cultivation of oil flax in Sverdlovsk region is ascertained. The duration of vegetation period of oil flax made 90100 days. The height of plants was 40-47 cm in arid year and 60-70 cm in the year with favourable weather conditions. The soil-climatic conditions of Central Urals make it possible to form the yield of oil flax seeds up to 2.53.2 t/ha. The Central Urals northern boundary of oil flax cultivation area can be moved to the north to 320-350 km.
