Expanding the field of application of the window of political opportunities technology

The article examines the original concept of the «window of political opportunity» by Joseph Overton, according to which politicians promote ideas acceptable to citizens in election campaigns, seeking to increase their chances in the elections. The model of the «window of discourse» of acceptable ideas, developed based on the concepts, allows us to understand how changes in the value system occur in society and how they affect politics. In modern societies, the «Overton window» model is used as a technology for social construction of society with given characteristics of interest groups. The cases given in the article show the possibilities of expanding the use of humanitarian technologies in various spheres of society.
