Widening the cooperation agenda as a possible way to make APEC regional role more important

Acute contradictions between participants and inability to counter negative consequences of globalization contributed to decreasing APEC influence in the region. Widening and diversification of the annual agenda could make APEC regional role more important. А fortunate opportunity to prepare for and arrange APEC summit in 2012 could secure more active involvement of the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia into Northeast Asian integration space and vital increase in welfare of the local population.
