Reflections on the article by T. V. Bordachev “The concept of the god-chosen Russian land during formation of united state centered in Moscow: foreign policy aspect” (Khristianskoye chteniye, 2023, No. 3, pp. 253-268)

Generally appreciating the work of T. V. Bordachev and supporting his observation about the significant role of the external factor in the history of our country, it should be noted that it should be necessary to analyze the idea of “brotherly love” of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the establishment of real autocephaly of the Grand Principality of Moscow after the Union of Florence (1438) and the fall of Constantinople (1453), as well as the birth of Russian theology in the late 15th-early 16th centuries.
