Development of a methodology for assessing the socio-economic potential of a municipality

According to Rosstat, there are 21,501 municipalities in the Russian Federation as of January 1, 2019. Russia, due to its vast, geographically and climatic disparate territory, has sharp contrasts in the results of the socio-economic level of regional development. Paradoxically, sometimes significant differences in the parameters of the quality of life of the population occur within the same administrative unit, so the development of unified approaches to assessing the socio-economic potential of individual municipalities is a necessary and relevant mechanism that affects the development of individual municipalities. The article offers new approaches to the application of the current methodology for assessing the socio-economic potential of a municipality.
