Elaboration of the approaches to the development of index insurance and improving the insurance literacy of agricultural producers in the Russian Federation

The author considers existing approaches to index agricultural insurance. Proposes to develop this area through the implementation of insurance on the income index in crop production and further expand the scope of its application to other branches of agriculture. Determines directions for improving the insuranceliteracy of agricultural producers. He believes that this approach will contribute to the growth of parametric insurance and agricultural insurance in general. Proposes changes to the insurance legislation.
