Development of projects for reconstruction of the space of historic cities taking into account the principles of sustainable development and heritage conservation

The article presents an analysis of the relationship between the concept of sustainable development and the concept of heritage conservation. The purpose of the study is to identify contradictions between the goals of sustainable development and the goals of heritage conservation. Moreover, this paper identifies the tools for resolving these contradictions. Particular attention is paid to projects for restructuring the space of historical cities. It has been proven that projects for the reconstruction of the space of historical cities should take into account the principles of heritage conservation and the principles of sustainable development.
