Monitoring indicators system development in the field of solid municipal waste processing

The article deals with the main problems in the organization of solid municipalwaste management. It analyz es legal framework for the treatment of solidmunicipal waste in the Russian Federation. The substantiation of the need to createa comprehensive system of evaluation indicators for the management of solidmunicipal waste is presented, the need to improve the monitoring system in thisarea is indicated. The results of the monitoring can be used in the development ofregional environmental development programs within the framework of the strategyof sustainable development of territories.
