Development of a method for obtaining a consumable electrode for electroslag remelting from a chip mixture

Бесплатный доступ

The article is devoted to the development of a method for compacting a mixture of aluminum and steel chips into a billet for further electroslag remelting. The remelting of the metal of the chip billet involves the production of aluminum ligature. Studies conducted on sintering a mixture of chips of AK8 and 95X18 alloys have shown that the manufactured briquettes are relatively durable and can be used as blanks for the consumable electrode. According to the developed technology, a metal-chip consumable electrode was made from a mixture of AK8-95X18 (3/1) chips by sintering and melted in a slag bath at ESP. It was found that the resulting consumable electrode was melted evenly, while maintaining strength and integrity.
