Development of SSR marker genes for drought tolerance in domestic apple trees

SSR markers are among the most common markers for genotyping and monitoring variability in plant species. Determination of plant gene differentiation is an important part of molecular breeding techniques and plays an important role in accelerating the development of new varieties of agriculturally useful crops. This study presents the identification of novel SSR functional markers derived from potential candidate genes for drought tolerance in apple tree. Future functional studies of these differences in candidate genes will reveal their role in drought tolerance.
