Development of the metaphorical model with the source-domain «plant kingdom» in Russian and Britain political texts

The article is devoted to comparative analysis of the metaphorical model with the source-domain «PLANT KINGDOM» / «МИР РАСТЕНИЙ» in the present-day political discourse in Great Britain and Russia. The study of metaphorical processes in the cognitive-discursive perspective gives us the notion necessary for understanding of national mentality. Besides political metaphor is an effective instrument of shaping an addressee's perception. The laws of development of the given metaphorical model in political texts, its pragmatic characteristics and the cases of symmetry in both national political discourses are also considered in the work.
