The development of highways and road communications of the city of Moscow

The article analyzes the current state and perspectives for developing road construction in Russian Federation. The paper considers conditions for creating in Russia a network of motorways, including high-speed ones, strategy of their development and chief limiting factors. Direct economic losses from discrepancy between the level of development of motorways and economic requirements amount to as much as two to three per cent of the GDP annually, which demonstrates urgent need in creating such a motorway network.
