Development of the digital economy in Russia and China: a comparative analysis

The article presents a comparison of the Russian and Chinese digital economies. We have considered the advantages and disadvantages of the development of digital economy in Russia and China, described indicators of information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, large databases, virtual and augmented reality. The article also considers the differences in the attitude and approaches of the states to the development of digital economy. We have shown the factors that hinder the development of digital economy, compared the Russian “Digital Economy” program with China’s plans for the development of artificial intelligence. The Russian program is aimed at supporting innovative entrepreneurial ideas. China's plan aims to improve and use digital technologies for the benefit of the state and society, as well as for business.
