Soft skills development in foreign language teaching on the basis of modern pedagogical technologies

The paper describes the theoretical and practical aspects of the methods of developing soft skills of schoolchildren in English lessons. Soft skills are useful in all fields of activity and are related to emotional intelligence. Soft skills relate to personality traits, fluency of language, amicability and creativity. Soft skills complement hard skills, which are, in fact, the requirements of a particular profession. The purpose of this paper is to study the theoretical aspects of the development of soft skills of schoolchildren and to present methodological recommendations for the development of soft skills using modern teaching technologies in English lessons. Methodological recommendations are given in the form of tasks, developing certain soft skills according to the concept of "4K": creativity, cooperation, critical thinking and communication. To create conditions for the development of soft skills, it is recommended to use the most effective techniques of modern teaching technologies, such as Information and communication technology, game technology, critical thinking technology, project and problem-based technologies. The practical significance of the research lies in the fact that the results can be used in the course of foreign languages teaching methodology.
