Evolvement of the civic consciousness ideas and civil upbringing in the domestic pedagogical thought in the second half of the XIX - beginning of the XX century

The present article contains the analysis of views by scholars, educators and prominent public figures in the second half of the XIX - beginning of the XX century on the problem of civic consciousness, civil upbringing and education in Russia. It describes the essence of the civil education, traces the continuity of ideas in the domestic historical pedagogical process.
