The article discusses the need to reform the approach to the development of information culture of higher school students, and update understanding of the information culture considering the recent data in this field. The conclusion about the change of the methods of foreign languages teaching in a higher school is based on the undertaken theoretical study - at the confluence of sciences and teaching experience. In this respect, the author draws attention to the peculiarities of the brain development and the changing priorities of teenagers, which allows each participant of the educational process to achieve the best possible results.
