Development of students’ personal autonomy in a pedagogical university through studying psychology

The problem of formation of personal autonomy of a student of a pedagogical University is considered. The article presents modern interpretations of the concept of "personal autonomy" and features of the manifestation of this quality in teachers. The results of research on the level of personal autonomy development in students are highlighted. It is shown that the majority have developed autonomy with external support, when young people are only partially able to build personal boundaries, are aware of their desires and needs, but at the same time need emotional support from others, are dependent on them. Psychological and pedagogical conditions for the development of autonomy in the educational process are proposed, including actualization of the desire for self-knowledge; creation of success situations; development of Autonomous behavior skills; use of discussion technologies; development and protection of projects. The problem of the relationship between personal autonomy, on the one hand, and pedagogical culture, on the other, is raised.
