Development of the method of electrical impedance tomography in mammology

The article is devoted to the review of development of the method of electrical impedance tomography in mammology. We present historical facts of the origin and formation of the electrical impedance tomography (EIT) method. On the basis of numerous researches it is established, that EIT can contribute to solving of the problems of state of the national and economic nature: improving the nation's health, reduction of costs for the examination and treatment through the early detection of diseases of the breast, reduction in the morbidity and mortality of the female breast cancer population.
