The problem of developing the structure and content of soft skills, as well as their formation, has been widely discussed by scientists in the last decade. The article reveals the problems of interpretation and content of the concept, and based on the analysis of the literature it is revealed that softskills include: 1) social and communication skills; 2) cognitive skills; 3) emotional intelligence of the individual. To date, softskills are considered as a set of supra- professional skills and personality qualities that determine its success and relevance both in life and at school or work. Soft skills are necessary in any kind of activity, thus, it is so important to start forming them already at preschool age. The most effective development of softskills can be achieved in older preschool children in English lessons. The paper presents game techniques and exercises that allow you to form soft skills in the classroom. The author emphasizes the need for the formation of these skills for the development of an active creative position in relation to one's own life and the formed motivation to develop effective behavioral strategies in the future. These qualities are difficult to assess, they are the foundation for the development of hardskills or solid skills.
