According to the Incentive Performance Center, employee turnover in the service industry costs many businesses billions of dollars each year, with employee turnover at some hotels reaching 95%. Motivating service personnel not only increases productivity, but also reduces the costs associated with finding and training new employees. This article presents an attempt to summarize the experience of the motivation system of the service industry. Strategies for developing suitable employee incentive programs are proposed.
