Thinking development of junior schoolchildren with hearing impairments in the process of learning chess game at the initial stage

The article discusses the features of thinking of junior schoolchildren with hearing impairments. Scientists note that children with hearing impairment retard in the formation of the ability to analyze and synthesize the perceived material, to think images, to compare the newly learned material with studied previously. Lack of basic mental operations development does not allow schoolchildren with hearing impairments adequately acquire knowledge and may cause not only the school but social disadaptation in the future. The game of chess has an effect on thinking development of schoolchildren with hearing impairment. It is suggested the development technique of analytical and synthetic thinking in this category of children with the help of a learning chess game at the initial stage. The modified version of the Koos technique was used to study the ability of schoolchildren with hearing impairment to the analytical and synthetic thinking. It helped to determine the characteristics of spatial orientation, analysis of figures and their subsequent synthesis. According to the study, after two years of learning chess primary school children in the experimental group do test tasks much better than schoolchildren in the control group.
