Development of the defense-industrial complex of Russia and ensuring competitiveness in the national economy

The article is devoted to the study of the current state of the military-industrial complex in the Russian economy. It is well known that the development of the defense industry complex in modern conditions of tough competition in the world arms markets presupposes the active use of the expenditure side of the state budget. The article provides an overview of scientific research devoted to the processes of fiscal regulation of the development of the national economy. The presence of opposing points of view on the use of fiscal regulation to stimulate the development of enterprises of the country's military-industrial complex is noted. The current situation in the defense industry of various countries and in Russia is considered. The presence of a tough competition for arms sales markets is noted. Therefore, if Russia sharply cuts the level of funding for its own defense industry, then this will lead to a real loss of the last industry, which can really compete with modern leaders in technological and production innovations. This will unambiguously lead to an increase in Russia's technological lag behind developed countries. The scientific potential of the defense industry complex should be actively used in the process of modernizing the domestic economy. The defense industry complex today is the sector of the economy where industrial science has survived, on the basis of which it is possible to try to recreate branch scientific organizations in industry and, above all, in civil engineering. It is the defense industry complex that can act as a locomotive for the country's technological development. This will make it possible to carry out the transition from a raw material economy model to a high-tech economy. The Russian defense industry complex is characterized by the presence of fundamental strategic advantages that can be used for structural changes in the national economy.
