Pedagogical Competences Development in University Students within the Master's Degree Studies in 03.04.02 Physics

The importance of developing not only professional skills but also competencies for self-education and training next generation in science and technology professionals and teachers is substantiated. The article demonstrates how work is organized to develop pedagogical competencies and the ability to explain physical laws and phenomena in master’s students in the 03.04.02 Physics at Tomsk Polytechnic University in the course “Pedagogical Practice. Basics of Pedagogy “ (delivered in English). Updated content of the teaching materials and aids for this course is presented (tasks and assignments for students, their structured independent studies, summative and formative assessment, session formats, and assessment objectives). It is concluded that active participation in the implementation of the course contributes to the development of pedagogical design skills in master’s students for working with bachelor's students during their teaching practice.
