Development of the concept of "cluster" in the scientific literature

This article deals with the problem of cluster concepts in the economic literature and the modification of this concept in view of the global and national economies. It is analyzed different approaches to the concept of western economists cluster. It is considered the features of the approaches, their differences and the influence on the subsequent development of the concept. It is identified the features and factors that influenced the development of the notion of a cluster. Based on the analysis the author formulates own definition of a cluster.
