Development of the tourism sector in the Republic of Dagestan and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic

The article is devoted to the study of the current state and development of the tourist and recreational tourism sector of the Republic of Dagestan and the Karachay- Cherkess Republic, which has significant potential due to its unique natural, historical and cultural resources. The paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the current situation, an assessment of the successes achieved, and the authors identify potential risks that could affect the further development of the tourism sector in the republics. Special attention is paid to the unique natural, historical and cultural heritage of both republics. The article provides a detailed analysis of the tourist and recreational component, which makes it possible to identify strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats specific to each of the republics. The authors analyzed the factors influencing the development of domestic tourist flow using multiple regression, and made a forecast for the growth of domestic tourist flow in the republic until 2030. In addition, the article is supplemented with conclusions on the need to form an effective legislative framework, finance infrastructure projects and develop long-term tourism development strategies that meet the requirements of the time and consumer expectations. The proposed concept involves the integration of efforts of federal and regional authorities, business and civil society, which ensures optimal allocation of responsibility and maximum return on investment in the development of the tourism industry.
