The article is devoted to the basics of the methodology for managing innovative projects of an oil refinery. The role of innovations and the effective implementation of innovative projects in solving the problems of development and modernization of the country's economy is outlined. The concept of an innovative project is clarified, the author's vision of this category is presented. The features of project management in the oil refining industry are considered. The procedure for managing innovative projects in the oil refining industry has been studied on the example of the project activities of TANECO JSC. The key directions of the company's innovative activity, the goal-setting algorithm based on the definition of business challenges and the formation of a register of technological challenges are presented. A step-by-step scheme for the implementation of innovative projects at the enterprise is illustrated and described, the content of the procedures for expert evaluation and monitoring of projects is disclosed. In conclusion, the author's recommendations for improving the project management system of TANECO JSC are outlined.
