Development of the theory and practice of military discipline in Russia (second half of XIX - early XX century)

The article describes the forms and methods of military discipline strengthening in the Russian army of the second half of XIX - early XX century. The evidence of contemporaries on the discipline in the Russian army is of particular interest. The author pays attention to the theoretical ideas about the peculiarities of behaviour maintenance. This evidence is presented in research papers of the pre-revolutionary military scientists and practitioners.
