Development of "growth territories": from free economic zones to territories with special economic regimes

The article studies the theory and practice of the functioning of world and domestic special economic zones and territories with special economic regimes. The evolution of the creation and development of these territories has been studied. The hypothesis that territories with special economic regimes are the most effective tool for the accelerated development of the regional economy has been confirmed and proved. The essence of the concept of "territory of advanced socio-economic development" and "free port" has been supplemented and improved. The main elements that characterize the zones with special economic regimes are identified. The superiority of the ASEZ over the SEZ in terms of benefits and preferences has been established. It was determined that the ASEZ meet all the criteria for a highly effective tool for the socio-economic development of the region.
