Developing tolerance of social educators in the system “university - additional professional education”

In modern Russia the system of continuing professional education is tasked with the creating in universities and institutions of professional development a set of conditions for developing tolerance as professionally important quality of the social educators’ personality. The authors of this article were studying for fifteen years the tolerance as a professionally important quality of social educators (professionals working in kindergartens, schools, social shelters, orphanages, social assistance centers for families and children, centres of socio-psycho-pedagogical support and rehabilitation of juveniles) with different work experience (from 1 year to 18 years). Authors identified the interrelation between the development of social educators’ tolerance and their individual typological characteristics and the age and sex characteristics. The article presents the characteristics of the developed by aouthers typology of individual style of social educators’ tolerance (synergistic, effective adaptive, selective styles). The article describes the main factors and conditions of developing social educators’ tolerance in the system of continuing education; special attention is paid to the interpretation of situational-contextual approach to professional communication training of socio-pedagogical personnel.
