The development of tourist flows and features of their segmentation

The article is focused on the study the influence factors and features of formation of tourist flows in Russia. Since the tourism and recreation sector is a dynamically growing segment of the economy, stimulating its development has a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the subjects, contributes to the smoothing of territorial disparities and redistribution of income. The subject of the study is the tourist flow, its physical characteristics. The aim is to identify the features of segmentation of tourist flow as a direction of improving the supply of services at the regional level. The assumption that the consumer profile as a result of marketing research will influence the structure and quality of tourist services in the subjects of the country is the hypothesis of the study. The results of the work consist in the studying the statistical indicators of the tourist flow in Russia and the determining the main structural ele-ments of the service consumer profile, which will influence the formation of the regional offer. The main directions of this research relate to developing the theoretical and methodological foundations for assessing marketing strategies for the tourist flow growth in the regions of the country with tourist and recreational specialization.
