This article elaborates on the concept of «self-control», reveals its essence as a subject of pedagogical analysis. We conducted an analysis of the work of psychologists, educators, from the point of view of their understanding of the research problem, ways of its solution. Describes the pedagogical experience of the teachers with modern approaches to solving the problems of development in pupils the skills of self-control in the learning process. Requirements necessary for the teacher in the formation of skills of self-control of pupils in the educational process.
