Realistic nature of the fantastic and fantastic nature of the realistic in Russian literature

The paper attempts to examine the category of the fantastic in literature, with the main focus on Russian literature. Definitions of the fantastic and realistic are discussed in their interconnectedness, and their analysis and classification are carried out. Ultimately, the relativity of these concepts is demonstrated.
