The article examines the main trends in the development of the theory and practice of the differentiated learning process as a whole; the essence, goals and forms of differentiation of the learning process; identified and summarized the features of the organization; an example of the realization of differentiated learning in the process of studying "Electrodynamics" in the school course of physics is given.
