Application of the margin of appreciation doctrine in practice of the European Court of Human Rights

The article is devoted to thefamous margin of appreciation doctrine, which was developed in practice of the ECtHR. The importance of scrutinizing of that doctrine is justified by the approaches to it of that Court in its lastjudgements, as well as by the passed reforms of Russian justice system. The correlation of that doctrine with the principles of the interpretation of the European Convention and its role in process of implementation of ECtHR’s judgments is also analyzed.
