The relevance of the topic of the article is due to the fact that today there are many projects exceeding the deadlines and budget. Comprehensive consideration by the author of the specifics of project management through the implementation of its functions made it possible to reveal the project as an enterprise for the creation of unique products with limited resources. It was found that a specificity of project management also forms certain features of the functions of project management, divided into basic, special and additional. But the main role with limited project management resources belongs to the control function, as a set of interrelated procedures to identify deviations between planned and actual results. Timely response and adjustment will increase the number of successful projects.
