This article describes in detail the most complex organization of interaction between journalists from different media platforms in Russian convergent editions on the example of such large media holdings as the Komsomolskaya Pravda and Kommersant. It is established that the most effective is not the merger of media editions of different formats, but the expansion and transformation into a convergent edition of the basic media, which gradually develops new formats, while training universal staff and building an organizational model. As a result, the typological unit of the media market is the production of content for different media platforms in a single edition, as a new entity, replacing what used to be called the traditional edition.
