The authors touch upon the problem of creating conditions for comprehensive support for students with special needs in the process of educational work in professional educational organizations (PEO). The article analyzes the data obtained during a survey of PEO representatives conducted by the Chelyabinsk Institute of the Vocational Education Development in the 2024/25 academic year on the organization of educational work with students with disabilities. The survey results allowed us to identify a list of problems that students with disabilities encounter when participating in educational activities (insufficient level of communication skills development, lack of adequate assessment of their own capabilities, emotional lability, emotional-volitional disorders, low level of initiative on the part of students, etc.). The study also identified a number of key problems that specialists of educational institutions of the secondary vocational education system face when building educational work with students with various developmental disabilities (lack of time resources for preparing and conducting educational activities, lack of qualified employees implementing support for students with developmental disabilities, lack of a department/center in the vocational education institution implementing variable forms of support for students with various types of disabilities, etc.). The practical significance is determined by the possibility of using the obtained results to improve the system of educational work with students with various types of disabilities in an inclusive environment.
