The article is devoted to the solution of the problem of development of chemical competences of students of pharmaceutical colleges. The approaches to the realization of the principles of continuity and practical orientation in the system of development of chemical competences are discussed on specific examples. It is shown that strengthening interdisciplinary relations during the organization of studying the cycle of chemical disciplines and special subjects in the context of a future profession as well as the use of active teaching methods for including students in diverse activities in the learning process have a positive effect on the development of chemical competencies of future pharmacists.
