The article examines approaches to defining the concepts of “subjectivity” and “sub-ject position”. An analysis of Russian research allows us to define subjectivity as a personal quality characterized by initiative, cognitive activity, independence in choosing and carrying out actions, reflection on methods and outcomes of independ-ent activity, and social interaction. The subject position is understood as the individ-ual’s attitude toward a particular phenomenon. The article presents the experience of implementing a subject-centered approach in organizing project-based research activities with bachelor’s students at Buryat State University, as part of the structural components of a functional pedagogical model for project-based research work in higher education. The article describes the infrastruc-tural components that support the development of students’ subjectivity and subject position. It also details experiences of individual and group interactions between ed-ucators and students, including formats and outcomes of the work.
