Realization of educational potential of sacred music in conditions of modular training at a comprehensive school

The sacred music as a part of the musical culture has enormous educational potential. The conception of art education defines the strategic areas of the state policy in the field of art and considers the prospective development of the musical education system. Implementation of the conception is a basis for the spiritual renaissance of Russia, reinforcement of its status in the international community as a great power in the sphere of education, culture and art, development of human individuality, including socio-cultural and creative skills. The author suggests fulfillment of the educational potential of the sacred music by implementation of the educational program for 1 - 4 classes “Music. Spirituality. Eternity" (an optional subject), consisting of eight modules. An important component of the developed program is formation of creative competences of students, among which there are improvement of general skills, vocal and choral activities, development of ear and flair for music, playing musical instruments, multi-art activities, communication. According to the program, laying the foundations of moral and spiritual culture of junior schoolchildren should be carried out by the means of musical art (for example, by introducing the sacred musical works of domestic and foreign composers to students).
