Realism in art: analysis of the phenomenon

The article analyzes realism in works of art. It is shown that the concept of realism is heterogeneous, that realism is variable in nature. On the one hand, every work of art is tendentious, and the nature of realism reflects the direction of this tendentiousness (for example, critical realism, socialist realism). On the other hand, realism is characterized by the properties of the reality that is displayed in the work (everyday realism, fairy-tale realism, magical realism, fantastic realism).
