Verbal activity: intention and intentionality

The article deals with some approaches to the study for the intentionality of speech behavior. Speech acts theory, pragmalinguistics and functional interpretations of a language development are presented as relevant and productive means. The author investigates the concept of intentionality in relation to the communicative goals of verbal activity, grammatical categories, as well as the relationship of semantic functions in grammatical forms with the speaker's intentions. The article focuses on the fact that the intentional structure of an utterance is a very complex phenomenon, closely related to the implementation for a number of features in the language and linguistic units.
