Character's speech portrayal in modern English drama «Pygmalion» by Bernard Shaw

The article discloses artistic compositional and verbal means of creating speech portrayal of the personage. The subject of the present study is the image of Professor Henry Higgins in «Pygmalion» by Bernard Shaw. As the analysis of the text shows, a range of language means of different levels allows the author to invent a unique and vivid dramatic character.
